Negrense farmers set to receive modern farm equipment

BACOLOD City – Negrense farmers are set to get P15-million worth of modern farming equipment from the Provincial Government together with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) to optimize rice production in the province.

The equipment will be distributed on Dec. 14 at the NIA Compound, Bago City for installation for the operation of rice processing centers.

The modern equipment up for distribution includes:
*50 units hand tractor with engine
*50 units of threshers with engine
*50 units pumps and engine with suction for mobile irrigation
*4 units of Rice Mill “de Kuno”
*10 units of motorized grass cutter
*10 units of knapsack sprayer
*5 units heavy duty push carts
*1 unit heavy duty rice cart trolly with 500 kilogram capacity
*1 unit heavy duty weighing scale
* 1 unit EMEI 195 engine.

Provincial consultant and president of the League of Government-Assisted Federation of Irrigators’ Associations in Negros Occidental (LeGAFIANO) Rosemary Caunca pioneered the proposal and facilitated the proposal for the purchase of these farm equipment and machineries for the operationalization of the rice processing center.

“Our government has a lot of programs for the people, we only need to strategize our approach to earn what is due to us, the public.” Caunca said. (PIA)
