Negrense jins capture 2 golds in Carlos Palanca taekwondo tilt

MANILA – Negros Occidental-based taekwondo jins took home six medals, including two golds, during the 2019 Carlos Palanca Jr. National Taekwondo Championships on Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City.

Jamiehannah Agaloos and Leigh Andee Rodriguez, both from Negros Taekwondo Union-Tigers stable, captured a gold medal each in girls poomsae and kyorugi, respectively.

Miguel Zapata, Charlize Subardiaga, Lexine Lapu-os and April Joy Patigas, meanwhile, captured the delegation’s bronze medal in kyorugi and poomsae events.

The two-day taekwondo event backed by SMART MVP Sports Foundation and PLDT HOME ULTERA was participated by over 800 taekwondo jins in the country.

Kyorugi features senior, junior, cadet and grade school fighters for both male and female divisions while poomsae competition were divided into three divisions – individual, team and pair./PN
