Alexa Milliam

NEGRENSE Alexa Milliam again proved that she is one of the fast rising junior netters today after taking home three championships in the PPS-PEPP City of Naga age-group tennis tournament at the Naga tennis courts in Cebu.

The Pontevedra, Negros Occidental native ruled the 14-and-under category with a 6-0, 6-1 victory Kay Gabonada, before ruling the 16-and-under category with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Rose Bohonsua.

The 14-year-old Milliam extended her dominance in the 18-and-under category when she blasted Bless Coderos, 6-2, 6-1, to clinch her third championship in the week-long event.

It was the fourth time for Milliam to complete a three-title romp in the 2018 PPS-PEPP age-group tennis tournament season after doing the same feats in the Dumaguete, Argao, Cebu and Negros legs.

Aside from her singles event feats, Milliam also bagged an 18-and-under doubles championship when she teamed up with Ghylliana Yu to edge Bliss Bayking and Coderos, 8-6.

“Through hard work and dedication, Milliam has achieved her goal to become the best and her amazing run of victories should inspire the other

youngsters as they prepare for another busy season in 2019,” said Palawan Pawnshop president/CEO Bobby Castro./PN
