MANILA – Negrense sensation Sheena Jillianne Chua Ty stunned a tough international field to capture the Individual All-Around crown at the Dream Cup 2025 – Vivace 4th International Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition in Malaysia.
The 11-year-old rhythmic gymnast, competing in the Under-11 Category A division, rose above more than 600 participants from 10 countries with a dazzling display of grace, precision, and composure. She clinched gold medals in the Freehand and Rope apparatus, added a silver in Ball, and stood tallest on the podium as overall champion.
“I’m beyond happy and thrilled to have won the Individual All-Around Champion title,” said Ty. “Competing against so many talented gymnasts pushed me to new heights. My hard work, sacrifices, and dedication truly paid off.”
The Bacolod-born athlete credited her coaches and loved ones for the victory that cemented her as one of the brightest young hopes in Philippine gymnastics. “I’m deeply thankful to Coach Whynn Reroma and the entire Whynnions family for their expert guidance, and to my family and friends for their unwavering support,” she added. “I’m proud to bring this honor home to the Philippines.”
Now in its fourth year, the Vivace Cup has become a proving ground for Asia’s rising stars, drawing competitors from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, and beyond. Ty’s win added to the Philippines’ growing stature in the sport, where grassroots programs and international exposure have steadily built momentum.
