Negros Occidental capitol provides over P48-M funds to LGUs

BACOLOD City – The provincial government of Negros Occidental provided a total of P48.7 million in funds to several local government units (LGUs) to fund their respective development projects in 195 barangays.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the ceremonial turnover of checks to the punong barangays and their authorized representatives at the Capitol Social Hall recently.

Each beneficiary barangay received P250,000 for projects including the installation of solar streetlights, purchase of multi-purpose vehicles, acquisition of office equipment, construction of concrete bleachers and canopies, building perimeter fences, concreting barangay roads, constructing comfort rooms, improving multi-purpose covered courts, installing water pipelines, and building multi-purpose buildings.

Other projects include purchasing of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) supplies and equipment, constructing footbridges, acquiring CCTV cameras, establishing community centers, rehabilitating daycare centers, and improving water systems./PN
