BACOLOD City – Police Colonel Romy Palgue, director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO), warned the public against scammers using his name.
A resident of Binalbagan, Negros Occidental received a call on Sept. 25 claiming the provincial director was asking for donation.
Investigation was ongoing, said Palgue.
The culprit used the cellphone number 0906-577-1699.
“We ask for the assistance of the public, especially information that would help us identify and apprehend the person who uses the said cell number to stop him from victimizing unwary individuals,” said Palgue.
“It is not our doing because we strictly adhere to our ‘No Take Policy’ in the PNP (Philipline National Police),” he added./PN
