ILOILO City – For posting at least three – and continuously increasing – coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, certain neighborhoods in five barangays here were locked down.
Through Executive Order No. 51-2021, Mayor Jerry Treñas imposed localized containment-surgical lockdown in the following:
* portion of Zone 1, East Timawa, Molo
* portion of Zone 3, Boulevard, Molo
* portions of Zone 2 and Zone 3, the street adjacent to the entrance gate of Villa Pacita Subdivision, portion of Zone 1A (Day Care Center area), and portion of Zone 2 (near the barangay hall area) in San Juan, Molo
* portion of Block 13, Ledesco Village, Barangay Tabuc Suba,La Paz
* portions of Block 8, Happy Homes Subdivision and Sto. Domingo Subdivision Phase 1 in Oñate de Leon, Mandurriao
This measure, which aims to arrest the spread of infections, started at 6 p.m. yesterday until June 12 at 5:59 p.m., unless extended.
As of this writing, based City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) data, East Timawa had nine confirmed cases for the past seven days; Boulevard had 20; San Juan (35); Tabuc Suba (16); and Oñate de Leon (13).
An 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew will also be imposed on the affected areas.
Among other restrictions, all residents of the affected neighborhoods are strictly advised to refrain from unnecessary travel and follow the strict “stay at home” order. Only authorized persons are allowed entrance and exit in the barangays.
Selling and consumption of liquor as well as gatherings are prohibited. Movement of vulnerable sectors is restricted.
