No holiday break for antidrug operations

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has vowed to sustain operations against illegal drugs and wanted persons throughout the Christmas season.

“We will not stop our operations, as we all know that drug traffickers and addicts have more money during this time because of bonuses. We need to strengthen our actions against them,” said PRO-6 spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis.

Intelligence personnel are closely monitoring the activities of drug personalities and working with communities to gather vital information, he added.

Recent data revealed that from December 9 to 15, PRO-6 seized illegal drugs valued at P23.7 million across the region.

The operations led to the arrest of 104 individuals, including 16 high-value targets, 83 street-level suspects, and five newly identified individuals.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, urged all police units to intensify their efforts against illegal drugs and review their lists of fugitives.

“The police actions against illegal drugs are commendable. We must strengthen our coordination with other law enforcement agencies and the community. Our collective efforts are crucial in preventing the proliferation of illegal substances and ensuring the arrest of those involved,” Wanky said./PN
