BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental incurred no deaths or damage to property during tropical storm “Marce” on Friday, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.
The Philippine Coast Guard allowed ships to sail again shortly after the state weather bureau Pagasa lifted the storm warning signal on Negros Island Region, according to Lieutenant Jimmy Oliver Vingno, Bacolod station commander.
Roll-on, roll-off vessels bound for Iloilo have been allowed trips, while fast crafts will resume trips today, Vingno said.
“Marce” was already 55 kilometers southeast of Coron, Palawan, a 5 p.m. Pagasa bulletin on Friday showed.
It packed maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph.
Signal No. 1 remained hoisted over Aklan and Antique provinces as of this writing.
The Calamian group of islands, Cuyo Island, southern Occidental Mindoro, and southern Oriental Mindoro were under Signal No. 2.
The rest of Occidental Mindoro and the rest of Oriental Mindoro, northern Palawan and Romblon were also under Signal No. 1./PN
