ILOILO City – Yet to shop for noche buena products?

Don’t worry. There are enough of them in the market, according to Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo director Diosdado Cadena Jr.

The supply of popular noche buena items such as ham, spaghetti noodles, spaghetti sauce, cheese, fruit salad and macaroni salad ingredients remains sufficient, he stressed.

Meanwhile, the prices of prime commodities remain within the suggested retail prices (SRP), according to Cadena, citing the results of DTI’s price monitoring in the first two weeks of this month.

Manufacturers committed to hold on to prevailing prices this holiday season, he stressed.

Still, Cadena advised Ilonggos to shop early in the morning to avoid the crowd.

DTI Region 6 director Rebecca Rascon previously said there was not much problem with the pricing of products as there were a lot of choices available in the market.

She also said the presence of other key players in the industry and the presence of alternative products “level off” the competition in the market, the reason why establishments could not increase the prices of products./PN
