BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) is making sure that Negrenses are having a safe holiday season.
Nocppo chief Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr. said yesterday that he will assign police personnel in various areas – transport hubs, malls, and public markets, among others – where heavy influx of people are expected.
Castil did such in adherence to the instructions of Police Regional Office 6 director Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, especially regarding the “one-strike policy” on incidents involving stray bullets.
Castil said police officers must solve these incidents within 24 hours or they will be relieved from service.
The Nocppo chief appealed to firearm owners to use their guns responsibly to avoid untoward incidents.
Castil also warned Nocppo personnel of charges if they are caught indiscriminately using their guns.
Nocppo is also preparing for the “big one” in relation to the founding anniversary if the Communist Party of the Philippines, said Castil.
He is encouraging the public to cooperate with the plans and programs of the Philippine National Police for a peaceful holiday season.
Meanwhile, Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) spokeswoman Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas said they have already set a security plan for the holidays.
