BACOLOD City –A total of 276 additional personnel have been deployed to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo).
Nocppo announced on Saturday that the additional personnel were assigned in Negros Occidental on March 1.
The personnel were members of Class Masiklab and Class Dakila trained under the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).
Nocppo chief Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil said in a statement that the additional officers will be deployed to 12 city police stations and two Type-A municipal police stations in the province.
They will render patrol duty and beef up police visibility operations in Negros Occidental, Castil added.
During his visit in this city last week, PRO-6 director Chief Superintendent Cesar Binag said additional personnel will also be assigned at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), which is now led by Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo.
PRO-6 has deployed about 300 augmentation personnel for the BCPO in October last year to help secure the MassKara Festival.
But they were pulled out from the city to augment security forces during the Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City last January. (With PNA/PN)
