AKLAN – A man lost his life following a stabbing incident in Barangay Tambuan, Malinao town.
The fatality was identified as Sergio Inserto, a resident of the town’s Barangay Manhanip. He was declared dead on arrival at the Aklan Provincial Hospital.
Malinao police said the incident occurred on Monday night, April 29, during a drinking binge, where a heated argument ensued between the victim and suspect Jose Campoy Jr., 37, of Barangay Kinalangay Nuevo.
The suspect fled the crime scene and voluntarily surrendered to the village chief of Kinalangay Nuevo.
He is now under the custody of the Malinao Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
In an interview, Campoy told the police that it was Inserto who first threatened to stab him, adding that he only retaliated by stabbing the victim on his face and neck./PN
