IVISAN, Capiz – A motorcycle accident in Sitio Palanas, Barangay Basiao, Ivisan, Capiz left one man dead and two others injured on Sunday evening, June 8.
The fatality was identified as alias, “Jose,” 32, while the injured was alias “Neo”, 39, both residents of the said place.
The motorcycle driver alias “Ben,” 21, is from Pontevedra town, police said.
According to Police Master Sergeant Eduard Peter Hari-on, investigator of the Ivisan Municipal Police Station, the incident occurred while Ben was traveling from Barangay Basiao towards the town proper of Ivisan. He reportedly lost control of his K3 big bike and crashed into a Suzuki Smash, which then rammed into a parked tricycle.
At the time of the accident, Jose was seated behind the sidecar of the tricycle while Neo was sitting on the motorcycle portion of the same vehicle. The force of the collision caused the Suzuki Smash to lurch forward and hit Jose, leading to fatal injuries.
Neo sustained minor injuries and was discharged from the hospital shortly after receiving treatment.
Ben, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol during the incident, remained confined in a private hospital as of this writing.
