BACOLOD City – The NBTC Negros Island Local Qualifying Tournament wrapped up with One Silay and Bleacher Sports Bar Team A emerging as champions in the North and South Negros clusters.
One Silay claimed the North Negros crown after a tight 91–87 victory over Team Calatrava in the championship game.
The Silay-based squad reached the finals with a 95–82 semifinal win over Victorias City. Team Calatrava advanced after routing Talisay Notre Dame, 85–60. Talisay Notre Dame secured third place with a 98–80 win over Victorias City.
Bleacher Sports Bar Team A ruled the South Negros bracket following an 89–81 win over Roadstar Transit Team B in the final.
Bleacher Sports Bar Team A opened with a 62–54 win over Spartans Hinigaran before beating Pintok Tigers–Binalbagan, 75–66, in the semifinals.
Roadstar Transit Team B earned a finals spot by edging Pintok Tigers–Binalbagan, 77–74, and then defeating Team Mylan, 71–67.
Pintok Tigers–Binalbagan finished third after a narrow 82–79 win over Team Mylan.
Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias earlier secured the Central Negros championship. All three winners will represent Negros Island in the Visayas Regional Championships in Tacloban City.
The two-day tournament, held from January 31 to February 1, featured teams from across Negros Island battling for slots in the Visayas Regional Championships in Tacloban City from February 10 to 14./PN
