ILOILO City – The Philippine National Police (PNP) cancelled yesterday morning the transfer of Senior Superintendent Remus Zacharias Canieso from this city to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
The cancellation came less than 24 hours after Canieso, this city’s police director, received Special Order 8832 on Tuesday afternoon making him the ARMM police’s Chief of the Directorial Staff.
According to the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) yesterday, Canieso would remain in Western Visayas and take over as the regional police’s Chief of the Directorial Staff.
Canieso would be replacing Senior Superintendent Nolasco Bathan who was bound for the police regional office of the Calabarzon region (Region 4-A composed of the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon).
Canieso was relieved from the Iloilo City Police Office on Tuesday through Special Order 8813 issued by PNP’s Director General Ronald Dela Rosa.
Canieso said he was happy to remain in Region 6. He said his new post would pave the way for his promotion to one-star general.
He thanked the people of Iloilo City and the city government for being supportive of him. He also thanked the press.
“The transfer is for my career advancement. I need this to be promoted to a higher rank and post. Some of my classmates are already holding higher posts. Late na ako sa mga classmates ko,” said Canieso.
As of yesterday, PRO-6’s deputy regional director for operations Senior Superintendent Jesus Cambay was serving as acting director of the ICPO./PN
