ILOILO City – Who will make it to the Philippine National Police Academy?

A total of 244 aspirants from Panay Island are taking the PNPA Cadet Admission Test at the Iloilo National High School in La Paz district on Sunday, Oct. 28.

Out of the 14,000 applicants across the country, only 350 will be chosen to undergo a four-year training, according to Cadet 1st Class Markelly Laganipa of Ajuy, Iloilo.

The INHS is one of the 28 examination centers nationwide, Laganipa told a news conference at the Police Regional Office 6. “The results will be known in December,” he said.

According to Laganipa, those who pass the Cadet Admission Test will undergo tough challenges during training – and some, for various reasons, may not make it to the end.

Originally there were also 350 of them under Class of 2019 but only 200 are set to graduate, he said.

“Some would fail in their academics while others would be rendered medically or physically unfit to continue with the training, so it is natural for the number (of cadets) to diminish,” Laganipa told reporters.

Applicants taking the exam at the INHS are encouraged to report to the examination center as early as 6 a.m.

They are required to bring their Notice of Examination with attached 2×2 picture, a black pen, a lead pencil, an eraser, an identification card, and two 1×1 pictures for their seat plan.

Among the qualifications for the applicants are:

* natural-born Filipino citizen

* 18 to 22 years old by May 1, 2019

* single and with no child to support

* at least a senior high school graduate upon admission

* 5 feet, 4 inches tall for males and 5 feet, 2 inches tall for females, with weight corresponding to the applicant’s height, gender and age in reference to body mass index

* physically and mentally fit to undergo rigorous training

* with good moral character (no criminal, administrative and civil derogatory record; no pending complaint and/or case in court involving moral turpitude and other cases against the state)

* not a former cadet of the PNPA or other service academies (Philippine Military Academy, Philippine Merchant Marine Academy, Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific)

* never been dismissed from any private employment or government position for cause. (With PTV-4/PN)
