ILOILO – There are 378,276 individuals here still unvaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.

The provincial government hopes to convince them all to get vaccinated.

As of May 6, 1,194,018 individuals here were already deemed fully vaccinated.

In the next few days, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. said, he would issue an executive order directing all local government units to hold another round of COVID-19 vaccination.

“I cannot say the date yet pero gina-obra naton ang spade-work sa subong,” said Defensor.

What could be causing some people to shun vaccination?

Some are sick. Some are scared of the vaccine’s possible adverse effects, said Defensor.

He clarified, however, that vaccination is not compulsory./PN
