ILOILO – Police confiscated more than P800,000 worth of suspected shabu in separate operations in Pavia town.
Street-level target alias “Nonoy”, 20, and a resident of Barangay Cabugao Sur, Santa Barbara town, was first arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Ungka 1 on Wednesday afternoon, August 7.
Officers of the Pavia Municipal Police Station (MPS) recovered a total of eight plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 12 grams and approximately valued at P80,600.
At around 7:44 a.m. yesterday, August 9, alias “Badukoy”, 51, from Barangay Purok 4, Pavia, was caught with 13 heated-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu valued at P748,000 and other non-drug items.
Joint operatives of the Pavia MPS’ Station Drug Enforcement Team and Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s (IPPO) Intelligence Unit arrested the suspect tagged as a high value individual through a search warrant.
Pavia police added that Badukoy was in the drugs watchlist of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC).
Nonoy and Badukoy were detained at the Pavia MPS. They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Colonel Bayani Razalan, director of the IPPO, assured the public anew that the province’s police force remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the Ilonggos.
“These successful operations are testament to the dedication and vigilance of our Ilonggo cops in our ongoing campaign against illegal drugs. We will continue to intensify our efforts to rid our communities of these harmful substances and hold accountable those who seek to profit from illegal drug trade,” Razalan added./PN
