P1.1-M ‘shabu’ seized in Molo

ILOILO City – Law enforcement authorities arrested a 34-year-old drug suspect and confiscated P1.1 million worth of suspected shabu in Barangay San Juan, Molo district yesterday.

The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) apprehended alias “Steven”, a resident of Barangay San Juan, while his companion, “Raprap”, 24, of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district, evaded arrest.

Police Captain Ryan Chris Inot, team leader of RPDEU, said Steven sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer in exchange for P14,000.

Police seized 15 more sachets of the illegal substance were confiscated.

Inot said this operation was a follow-up after the arrest of suspect Averose Prevendido in Barangay Dungon A, Jaro district on Wednesday, April 17. The 18-year-old Prevendido yielded approximately P400,000 worth of shabu.

Steven is currently held at the custodial facility of Molo police station, awaiting the filing of charges./PN
