P1.4M ‘shabu’ seized in Pahanocoy, Brgy 2 police ops

BACOLOD City – Police seized suspected shabu worth around P1.4 million were seized in two buy-bust operations in this city.

Officers arrested a woman and her teenaged brother in Barangay Pahanocoy and another woman in Barangay 2.

In the Purok Tahong, Barangay 2 operation, the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Bacolod City Police Office confiscated around P1.2 million worth of suspected shabu at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Their target, resident Edwin Jimena, fled upon sensing that he was dealing with an undercover officer, leaving behind a plastic pack of the substance, said the CDEU.

The CDEU arrested only his live-in partner, 45-year-old resident Cheryl Capadocia, from whom they seized two sachets of suspected shabu.

They further recovered 20 more plastic packs of the same substance and a .38 pistol from Jimena’s room.

Capadocia was detained. She and Jimena face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In the Purok Bantud, Barangay Pahanocoy operation at around 3 a.m. Thursday, Police Station 8 officers arrested siblings Gemma La Vega, 39, and brother Jericho, 19, said Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag.

Culanag said they recovered from the suspects 11 sachets of suspected shabu worth an estimated P160,000.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 may be filed against the siblings, who were detained at Police Station 8./PN
