P1.750-B DBP loan to finance rehab of markets

ILOILO City – The city government’s loan application with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has been approved.

Mayor Jerry Treñas said the loan is P1.750 billion and this will fund the repair of public markets in the districts of La Paz, Jaro, Mandurriao, and Arevalo.

“Ang mga markets ta kalain na gid. Gadanaw. Basa imo tiil kun magsulod ka. Madulom,” said Treñas.

Part of the loan will also fund the construction of the Iloilo City Hospital.

The city government will also be building a seven-storey parking building adjacent to the city hall.

The seventh floor will be a multi-purpose hall.

“Para kon mag-meeting, indi na kita magkadto sa Jubilee Hall,” said Treñas.

A connecting bridge will link the seven-storey parking building and city hall.

Meanwhile, Treñas announced that before this year ends, the groundbreaking for  the proposed seven-storey city legislative building will be held./PN
