BACOLOD City – Six persons were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation at Matagoy Interior in Barangay Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

Silay City police head Superintendent Noel Polines said five of the suspects belonged to a family known to be “aggressive” in selling illegal drugs in Silay.

They were Ronel Bermejo, Rudolf Bermejo, Nilo Bermejo, their mother Rochelle, and their uncle Fernando. The other suspect was identified as Joven Dejaro.

Polines said the suspects have been under surveillance.

Recovered from the suspects were five sachets containing suspected shabu worth P170,000, drug paraphernalia, about P6,000 cash believed to be proceeds in selling drugs, and the P500 marked money, a police report showed.

The suspects were detained at the Silay City police station custodial facility.

They were facing charges for violation of sections 5, 7, 11, 12, and 15 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
