ROXAS City – Around P3 million worth of jewelry items kept in a bedroom in Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Maayon, Capiz have gone missing.
Their owner, 53-year-old registered nurse Helen Tupal, believed somebody stole them, a police report showed.
Among those missing, Tupal told the police, were:
* a Rolex wristwatch worth P1.3 million
* a set of gold earrings worth P900,000
* a ring worth P500,000
* a gold bracelet worth P300,000
Tupal said the items were placed in a jewelry box inside a drawer. She discovered they were gone at around 7 p.m. on Feb. 8.
Police learned about the incident only at around 12:50 p.m. yesterday.
The Maayon police station continues to investigate the incident.
So far investigators have found no sign of forcible entry, according to Inspector John Stephanie Turingan Gammad, municipal police officer-in-charge.
They also learned that Tupal once worked overseas, Gammad said./PN
