P63.3-M shabu seized, 144 suspects nabbed in WV in 20 days

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) confiscated 9.3 kilos of shabu worth around P63.3 million in 20 days of operations across Western Visayas.

According to PRO-6 spokesperson Major Lailyn Sencil, from February 1 to 20, various units also apprehended 144 drug personalities.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) scored the biggest haul with 6.1 kilos of shabu worth P41.5 million.

One notable operation was recorded in Barangay Maya, Balasan, Iloilo, on February 20. The suspects identified as aliases “Bimboy,” 46, married, a resident of Barangay Gogo, Estancia; “Domingo,” 63, widower, of Barangay Maya, Balasan; “Jose,” 22, single, of Barangay Poblacion Norte, Balasan; and “Concepcion,” 21, single, of Barangay Ipil, Balasan, were caught with more than two kilos of shabu approximately valued at P14 million.

The suspects also yielded a unit of caliber .38 revolver with one live ammunition, according to Police Major Dadje B. Delima of the IPPO’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU).

All suspects were detained and charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, PRO-6 director, commended all units involved, particularly the IPPO led by Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, for their swift and coordinated action in apprehending high-value targets./PN
