ANTIQUE – A massive search operation is currently underway for a father and son who went missing while fishing off the coast of Barbaza town in this province on February 19.

The missing fishermen were identified as Roderick Maghari, 49, and Glennard Maghari, 26, both residents of the town’s Barangay Lisub.

Authorities said they reportedly set out to sea at around 6 a.m. on February 18 but have not returned home since.

Engr. Isidro Magtulis, Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer IV, said that based on wind patterns from the amihan season, the two may have been carried toward Palawan.

He added the their office has requested aerial search assistance and coordinated with nearby coastal communities, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), local police, and fishermen’s groups to aid in the search.
