PANDAN, Antique – Barangay Baybay is on “granular” lockdown. It took effect on May 23.
Mayor Plaridel Sanchez, in Executive Order No. 023 imposing the lockdown, stated: “Our municipality (has) not (been) spared by this pandemic which has claimed the lives of two of our constituents particularly from Barangay Baybay… we need to contain (this) and take precautionary measures.”
The Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force COVID-19 recommended the lockdown after consulting with the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) of Barangay Baybay.
Data from the local government of Pandan itself showed the municipality recording six cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) between April 22 to May 23, and two deaths due to the disease.
The lockdown of Barangay Baybay will be until June 5.
All barangay residents must stay home. Movement outside homes shall be limited only for accessing basic necessities.
The barangay captain shall authorize the preparation of quarantine passes to be distributed to each household and a special pass for the BHERT and other persons who may be tasked to enforce the lockdown.
All businesses and establishments for public or private use within the barangay shall be closed for the duration of the lockdown except for those delivering and/or offering essential services such as food, water, medical and emergency services such as pharmacies and hospitals.
All entry and exit points of Barangay Baybay shall be closed except on important or unavoidable circumstances per approval by the BHERT with the clearance from the Municipal IATF.
Residents who have work outside the barangay are advised to take alternative work arrangements so they can refrain from going in and out of the barangay.
Fishing, construction and other livelihood in the barangay may be allowed provided these shall not require physical contact and only limited to residents, or the workers do not have to go in and out of the barangay within the duration of this order.
Barangay residents are enjoined to report immediately any COVID-19-like symptoms such as fever, cough, colds, sore throat, body ache, dizziness and/or loss of taste and smell to the BHERT./PN
