BACOLOD City — A 51-year-old man died after falling from a tricycle while traveling along Purok 1, Barangay Asia, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental, at around 2 p.m. on August 17.
The victim was identified by police only as alias “Richard,” 51, a resident of Barangay Binicuil, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
His wife, identified as alias “Sharon,” 52, a vendor, was also aboard the tricycle at the time of the incident.
The Hinoba-an Municipal Police Station said the victim was riding at the back of the driver, identified as alias “Alvin,” 39, also a resident of Kabankalan City.
Initial police investigation showed that the tricycle was traveling southward from Hinoba-an Proper when the victim suddenly fell from the vehicle and landed face down on the road.
The driver reportedly returned to the area after noticing that the victim had fallen and sought assistance from nearby bystanders.
Rescue personnel arrived shortly after and transported the victim to the Hinoba-an District Hospital for medical treatment.
Despite medical intervention, the victim sustained injuries to various parts of his body and was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The tricycle and its driver remain under police custody pending proper disposition and further investigation into the incident./PN
