ILOILO City – A 26-year-old high-value individual was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Pandac, Pavia, Iloilo on Thursday night, July 25.
Officers of the Pavia Municipal Police Station (MPS) confiscated from the suspect identified as alias “Poping” of the town’s Barangay Ungka 2 10 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 65 grams and with an estimated value of P442,000.
Also recovered was P6,500 in buy-bust money.
According to Major Dadje Delima, chief of the Pavia MPS, the suspect has been under surveillance for a month before the operation.
Delima said the suspect did not resist when he was arrested.
“When his uncle was arrested for drugs a few years ago, he left Iloilo and hid in other places. But, recently we received reports that he was back here and again engaged in drug trade,” Delima added.
The suspect was detained at the Pavia MPS and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
