ILOILO – A job hire of the municipal government of Pavia, Iloilo was arrested in a buy-bust operation of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) on Tuesday night in Barangay Purok 1, Pavia.
Forty-year-old Brian Barrientos, a resident of Barangay Purok 2, Pavia, was caught after selling to a police asset a sachet of shabu for P2,000, said Police Major Jonathan Pinuela, PDEU chief.
Another sachet of shabu was seized from the suspect, added Pinuela.
“Before the operation, we conducted a test buy to make sure he was really selling,” he revealed.
The PDEU received information that Barrientos started selling shabu early this year.
According to Pinuela, the suspect admitted being a user and would sell some for additional income.
The supply came from Bacolod City, said Pinuela.
Barrientos was detained at the Pavia police station. He faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
