PBA D-League: Ilonggo shines as Che’Lu beats EAC

MANILA – Ilonggo Chris Bitoon continued his stellar play as Che’Lu Bar and Grill Revellers scored a 78-57 win over Batangas-EAC Generals in the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Bitoon led the way with 19 points, with eight coming in the third period.

Stephen Siruma, Jay-R Taganas and Jeff Viernes had nine points each for the Revellers, which improved to 3-1 win-loss slate.
After being down by as much as eight points in the opening quarter on Thursday, the Revellers opened the second quarter with a huge run from Siruma and Viernes to snatch a 32-30 lead at the half on a buzzer beater by Jason Melano.
The Revellers started to pull away in the third period on consecutive shots from Bitoon and Viernes for a 52-42 lead. It later went up to 60-44 heading into the final period on back-to-back treys by Siruma and Viernes.
The Revellers continued its hot shooting in the fourth period with five straight points from Bitoon for a 72-52 advantage before taking its largest lead at 78-57 on a triple by Nikko Lao.
“The players did great today. Hopefully, ganoon pa rin ang laruin namin sa malalakas na teams, na same intensity pa rin kami,” said Revellers head coach Stevenson Tiu.

Earvin Mendoza top-scored with 13 points while Clark Derige and Christian Manalo shot 12 markers apiece for the Generals, which slid down in the standings with 1-3 win-loss card./PN
