MANILA – In an aim to resuscitate their skidding campaign in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup, Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters, Rain or Shine Elasto Painters and NorthPort Batang Pier changed their reinforcements.

The Fuel Masters, currently 2-5 in the season-ending conference, was forced to part ways with longtime resident import Eugene Phelps and tap former NBA players in Alonzo Gee.

Gee will be a huge addition for the Fuel Masters. He brings with him a wealth of experience after suiting up for NBA teams Washington Wizards, San Antonio Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, and New Orleans Pelicans.

The Painters sent home ineffective Kayel Locke by bringing in former NLEX Road Warriors reinforcement Kwame Alexander in hopes of improving its current 1-5 win-loss record.

The 28-year-old Alexander, who averaged 20.27 points, 14.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.6 blocks in his first PBA stint, will be the Painters’ third import this conference after Locke and Joel Wright.

The Batang Pier has also parted ways with Mychal Ammons and will welcome Michael Qualls as its new import despite recently snapping their four-game losing skid at the expense of the Fuel Masters./PN
