MANILA – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday underscored the government’s concrete gains in making homeownership more attainable for Filipino families, highlighting the nearly P75 billion in cash loans released by the Pag-IBIG Fund that have benefited some three million members nationwide.
Speaking at the National Housing Expo in Pasay City, Marcos reaffirmed that his administration’s commitment to address the country’s housing backlog remains unrelenting under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
“Hangga’t may mga Pilipinong nagnanais ng sariling tahanan, hindi po titigil ang pamahalaan sa aming pagkilos. Walang hihinto sa trabaho. Walang maiiwanan sa Bagong Pilipinas,” he said, assuring the public that affordable housing remains a central pillar of his “Bagong Pilipinas” vision.
The President lauded Pag-IBIG Fund as one of the government’s most dependable partners in the housing sector, citing its role in financing programs that enable low- and middle-income workers to acquire decent homes.
The National Housing Expo, which features a wide range of services from architectural design to financing and loan applications, aims to guide Filipinos toward homeownership.
Through the Pag-IBIG Fund, qualified borrowers may avail of housing loans with interest rates as low as three percent per annum, with the same privilege extended to overseas Filipino workers.
Marcos said the government’s drive for inclusive housing will continue until every Filipino family can live “with dignity and stability in their own homes.”/PN
