MANILA – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. expressed elation with the Filipinos’ continued trust and support for him, based on the latest result of OCTA Research’s Tugon ng Masa survey.

According to the Chief Executive, it is good to know that Filipinos appreciate his administration’s efforts to bring progress to the country and that the real changes under his leadership are already being felt.

“It just validates what we are doing. People are beginning to understand what we have been trying to do for the past two and a half, almost three years,” Marcos said in an interview with the media.

“It continues to inspire me because it shows that we’re making progress,” he added. “Minsan hindi mo na malaman kung nararamdaman ng tao ang iyong ginagawa. At mabuti naman at nakikita ng taongbayan kung ano ‘yung ginagawa natin at paano makakatulong ito sa pampaganda sa kanilang mga buhay.”

President Marcos’ trust and approval scores dropped by five percentage and four percentage points compared to the ratings registered in November 2024, as stated in the OCTA survey conducted from April 2 to 5.

Presidential Communications Office’s Undersecretary Claire Castro, for her part, stressed that despite political controversies and criticisms, Filipinos remained focused on the administration’s bigger achievements.

“Nevertheless, positive or negative, it will not stop the President from working and fulfilling his goals for all Filipinos. He will never be distracted by the ratings, though they will all be considered for the betterment of the country,” Castro said in a statement.

Interestingly, the outcome of the OCTA survey differs from that of Pulse Asia, where Marcos’ approval rating fell by 17 percentage points from 42% in February to 25% in March, and his disapproval rating soared by 21 points to 53%.

Majority of Filipinos or 54% also expressed distrust toward the President, up from the previous 32%. His trust rating likewise dropped significantly from 42% in February to 25% in March./PN
