ILOILO City – A couple and their daughter were busted in an antidrug operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6 in Barangay Cuartero, Jaro district yesterday.
Four sachets of shabu were recovered from the Alegado couple Ramil, 43, and wife Rowela, 45, and their 23-year-old daughter Rachel Ann.
The sting operation was carried out at the suspects’ house around 2 p.m. From there, the Alegados were taken to PDEA’s detention facility at Fort San Pedro.
An undercover PDEA personnel initially bought a sachet of shabu from the suspects for P1,500. It was the daughter that handed over the stuff.
Three more sachets were seized from the suspects.
PDEA regional director Gil Pabilona considered the Alegados high-value drug suspects.
Ramil, tricycle driver, would drive around his wife and daughter who were the ones transacting with clients, he said.
The Alegados were placed under surveillance for weeks prior to yesterday’s buy-bust operation, said Pabilona.
PDEA believed the suspects’ source of shabu was Barangay Desamparados, Jaro.
Ramil and Rowela denied pushing shabu. They also claimed their daughter stopped peddling shabu last year yet.
