BACOLOD City – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) will collaborate with courier services to suppress drug trafficking in Negros Occidental.
According to PDEA-Negros Occidental, delivery service drivers have unknowingly become conduits of drug traders.
On Monday, law enforcement agencies in the province sat down with several courier services to discuss measures against drug smuggling.
“We will address the lack of existing anti-drug policies with regards to this to complement the anti-drug campaign of the government,” PDEA-Negros Occidental said.
The meeting was led by Colonel Manuel Placido, director of the Bacolod City Police Office.
In another development, PDEA arrested seven persons, including suspected drug den maintainer Romeo Gain, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Banago.
The other suspects were Romy Valenzuela, Ronnie Valenzuela, Jupiter Valenzuela, Marvic Dela Torre, Rico Dela Torre, and Reymart Dela Torre.
Suspected shabu valued at P74,800 was recovered around 5:30 a.m. on Feb. 23.
The suspects face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
