MANILA – Continuing its rise in the 2019 Philippines Football League, Green Archers United FC posted a 4-1 victory over the Philippine Air Force FC at the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa, Batangas.
Negrense Christian Pasilan nailed two goals while Paolo Bugas and Tonaldo Appiah added a conversion each over the weekend .
The Green Archers moved up to third spot with 22 points, on six wins, four draws and five losses.
It broke the scoreless drought at the 17th minute courtesy of a Bugas conversion before it was followed by a hit by San Carlos City-native Pasilan at the 42nd minute.
With the Philippine Air Force struggling to keep in step with their opposition, the Green Archers managed to up the advantage to 3-0 heading into the half on a penalty by Appiah.
In the second half, the Green Archers went for the kill. Pasilan completed his brace at the 54th minute before the Air Force pulled one back at the 63rd mark on a hit by Bacolodnon Jade Poderoso.
With the defeat, the Philippine Air Force dropped to sixth place with seven points, on two wins, one draw and 12 defeats./PN
