ILOILO City – The firecracker injury that the Department of Health recorded in Bingawan, Iloilo was on an 11-year-old child.
A piccolo – an illegal firecracker – exploded on the right hand of Chin Harby Castromayor of Barangay Guinhulacan, a police report showed.
Castromayor was wounded on the thumb and index finger after the incident at around 4 p.m. on Christmas Day, police said.
The child was taken to the Dr. Ricardo S. Provido Memorial District Hospital for treatment.
The Health department has been monitoring firecracker and stray bullet injuries and deaths since Dec. 21./PN
