MANILA – Five drug suspects were killed by policemen on Christmas Day as the Philippine National Police continued its anti-illegal drugs operation.
Data from police regional offices showed that as of 6 a.m., Dec. 26, a total of 2,155 drug suspects were killed from the previous record of 2,150 slain drug suspects.
This was the result of 39,987 police operations conducted wherein 42,497 drug suspects were arrested.
Under Project Tokhang, a total of 980,638 drug suspects have also surrendered during the same period.
Of the said number, a total of 906,078 were users and 74,560 were pushers.
A total of 5,694,380 houses have been visited by the authorities as part of Project Tokhang. (GMA News)
