ILOILO — Police operatives confiscated approximately P2.1 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pandac, Pavia town on Tuesday night, May 12.
The primary subject of the sting was identified as alias “Joel,” 42, a native of San Dionisio, Iloilo who is currently residing in Barangay Ungka II, Pavia. Also apprehended was alias “Agi,” 26, a resident of Barangay Bancal, Tigbauan.
Police Major Marvin Villanueva, deputy chief of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6), revealed that Joel allegedly served as a bodegero, utilizing a location in Pavia to stockpile illegal drugs.
The transaction between the police poseur-buyer and the suspects took place at a pre-arranged meeting spot in Barangay Pandac at around 11:30 p.m.
Authorities recovered a total of nine plastic sachets and four large packs of suspected shabu. The seized illegal drugs weighed approximately 320 grams and approximately valued at P2,176,000.
According to police, the suspects are responsible for supplying illegal drugs across the municipality of Pavia and Iloilo City.
Meanwhile, Joel reportedly disclosed the name of their drug source, a lead that the police are currently validating for follow-up operations.
The suspects are now in police custody and face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
