TAPAZ, Capiz – A 36-year-old fish vendor accused of raping a 29-year-old mentally-challenged woman here has been arrested.
Michael Gabucay was caught in a joint operation of the police forces of Tapaz and Dumalag towns at around 9:45 a.m. on Jan. 18 in Barangay San Francisco here where he was residing.
Police said the alleged rape happened on Sept. 6, 2020 at a corn plantation during a birthday party of the woman’s relative.
Cops served to Gabucay an arrest warrant issued by Presiding Judge Rommel Leonor of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 21 (Mambusao-Capiz) on Dec. 29, 2020.
The suspect was taken to the Dumalag police station./PN
