Pontevedra drug bust nets suspected pusher

ROXAS City – Police arrested a suspected illegal drug dealer operating in Pontevedra, Capiz and neighboring towns.

Jomar Biclar, 37, of Barangay Tabuc, Pontevedra was caught in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Rizal in their town.

Inspector Edgar Nuida, Pontevedra police chief, identified Biclar as a drug surrenderer.

Biclar allegedly returned to selling drugs after turning himself in to the police at the height of the government’s crackdown on drugs, Nuida said.

Jomar Biclar allegedly sells prohibited drugs not only in Pontevedra, Capiz but also in the neighboring towns of Pilar and President Roxas.

Officers from the police stations in Pontevedra, Pilar and President Roxas, and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Capiz Police Provincial Office conducted the operation at around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

They also recovered a .45 pistol tucked in his waist.

Biclar faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
