ROXAS City – A man was killed after being shot four times in Barangay Yatingan, Pontevedra, Capiz.
The 33-year-old resident Jaicar Beldia was lying on a bamboo bench at his house when an unidentified suspect fired at him around 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Police recovered four empty cartridges of a .9mm-caliber pistol from the crime scene.
According to the victim’s father Romulo, he heard the gunshots from a distance. He then hurried home and saw his son bearing gunshot wounds on the body.
Jaicar was rushed to the Bailan District Hospital where the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
According to the police, the gunman fled on board a motorcycle after the shooting.
Officers from the Pontevedra police station were still identifying the suspect and the motive in the shooting./PN
