ILOILO City – Police served a woman in Veterans Village a warrant of arrest around 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5.

Vilma Emplasta, 66, was accused of violating Republic Act 7832, or the Anti-Electricity and Electric Transmission Lines/Materials Pilferage Act of 1994.

Presiding Judge Marie Yvette Go of the Regional Trial Court Branch 37 issued the arrest warrant on Nov. 3.

The court set the bail bond for Emplasta’s temporary liberty at P24,000./PN

Firearm seized

ILOILO City – An unlicensed firearm was seized from a 52-year-old man in Patnongon, Antique.

Roland Magbanua of Barangay Poblacion, Patnongon was arrested and hauled to the municipal police station lockup cell.

Officers were patrolling the village around 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 when someone tipped them that Magbanua indiscriminately fired his gun.

They recovered from the man a .22-caliber revolver with ammunition and an empty shell./PN
