ABOUT 110,000 households in Antique have benefited from the provincial electric power subsidy (PEPS), which is expected to increase further once the master list of beneficiaries is updated or reset next month.
“Through the reset, those who have applied for their residential electric connection after December 31, 2025, could already be included in the subsidy,” Antique Electric Cooperative (Anteco) general manager Neal Peter Veñegas said in an interview on Friday, May 8.
Under the PEPS program, the provincial government provides a P500 monthly subsidy for the electric bills of Antique households.
The master list was updated twice in 2025, on June 30 and December 31.
“The reset on June 30, 2026 is already the third and will take effect on July 2026 to December 2026 billing,” Veñegas said.
He said that they have to continually update their list of beneficiaries because they have been receiving more applications from residential houses.
PEPS was first implemented in 2025 to provide relief to households in the province on their electric bills.
Veñegas said that Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) household beneficiaries and the marginalized who are beneficiaries of the Expanded Lifeline Rate Subsidy are excluded from the PEPS. (PNA)
