THE DEPARTMENT of Labor and Employment (DOLE) launched its hotline 15/30 that seeks to provide immediate assistance to workers’ concerns.
The hotline replaces the former 1349 service.
The new number is based on the 15th and 30th monthly paydays. The new hotline will operate 24 hours a day and seven days a week to cater to several labor concerns including delayed issuance of salaries and benefits.
Workers can also report via the hotline concerns on illegal firing and unfair labor standards.
Employees can also relay concerns regarding occupational safety and hazards, including the threat of the extreme heat.
It can be recalled that DOLE earlier sad that it will issue policies to protect workers from the extreme heat.
One of them is that employees may use “extreme caution” heat index as a reason to not go to work amid the potentially record-breaking El Niño. (GMA News)
