SAN JOSE, Antique – Health practitioners in this province have been provided with personal protective equipment (PPEs) by the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) in their fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak.
According to Dr. Ric Noel Naciongayo, Antique PHO chief, the health workers and personnel of the local disaster risk reduction and management office assigned to implement border restriction have been provided with PPEs since March 19.
The PPEs consist of surgical masks, clean gloves, alcohol, and raincoat in place of surgical gowns for health personnel who would be transporting patients under investigation and persons under monitoring with high fever.
Health workers who do thermal scanning to people in the border of Barangay Lindero, Libertad town; Barangay Buang in Pandan town; Lipata Port in Barangay Lipata in Culasi town; and Barangay San Francisco in Anini-y town, on the other hand, have been provided with infrared thermal scanners and forms for medical assessment.
According to IPHO information officer Irene Dulduco, meanwhile, Belison’s municipal government already began providing free rides to health workers reporting to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital here.
Mayor Christopher Piccio said on March 19 that given the difficulty faced by health workers in accessing transport going to San Jose, Belison would provide them with a van to not hamper the delivery of their services.(With a report from PNA/PN)
