SAN JOSE, Antique – The 13 patients under investigation (PUI) in this province are now in stable condition, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) said.

Antique PHO chief Dr. Ric Noel Naciongayo said that the PUIs admitted at the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH) in this capital town and at the Culasi District Hospital (CDH) could be discharged after a 14-day quarantine and management.

“The PUIs hopefully could be discharged soon,” he said on March 20.
Of the said number of PUIs, 12 were admitted at the ASMGH, while the other one was sent to the CDH.

“We are just waiting for the results of their specimens from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Alabang, Muntinlupa City,” Naciongayo added.

The swabs taken from the PUIs were sent to the RITM through the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) aircraft at the Iloilo International Airport, which is also tasked to transport swabs of the other PUIs in Western Visayas.

“We sent the three latest swabs last March 18,” he said, adding that the swabs of the 10 other PUIs were sent earlier through the AFP.

For his part, Dr. Inocencio Abiera Jr. of the IPHO said on March 19 that there are 17 other PUIs placed under home quarantine since they only manifested mild signs and symptoms of the coronavirus disease 2019.

Abiera added that Antique has a total of 3,403 persons under monitoring (PUMs).
All 18 municipalities of this province have PUMs due to exposure to the PUIs.(With a report from PNA/PN)
