PRO-6 arrests 41 fugitives in a day

ILOILO City – A one-day operation across Western Visayas led to the arrest of 41 individuals with outstanding warrants of arrest, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) reported.

Of the 41 arrested, four were identified as “most wanted persons” (MWPs) for heinous crimes, while the remaining 37 were classified as “other wanted persons” (OWPs) for less severe offenses.

According to PRO-6 records, the following police offices were instrumental in apprehending the MWPs:

* Capiz Police Provincial Office (PPO) – one arrest

* Iloilo Police Provincial Office – two 2 arrests

* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – one arrest

For OWPs, the arrests were distributed as follows:

* Aklan PPO – four arrests

* Antique PPO – five arrests

* Capiz PPO – one arrest

* Guimaras PPO – one arrest

* Iloilo PPO – 10 arrests

* Negros Occidental PPO – 13 arrests

* Iloilo City Police Office – one arrest

* Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 – two arrests

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, commended the efforts of his personnel and urged them to sustain the momentum as the 2025 elections approach.

“I have been telling my men not to stop running after wanted persons, especially with the elections fast approaching,” Wanky said.

He also highlighted the importance of collaboration with the community and other law enforcement agencies in achieving these results.

“These accomplishments signify PRO-6’s strong commitment to bringing wanted persons to justice. Their arrests will provide justice to the victims and their families. We are also grateful for the community’s support, which played a crucial role in these operations,” Wanky added.

All the arrested individuals were turned over to the respective courts handling their cases./PN
