ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) arrested 10 suspected drug personalities and seized P2.6 million worth of alleged shabu in a span of 24 hours during a series of anti-drug operations across Western Visayas.
From the morning of November 6 to the morning of November 7, various police units recovered approximately 382.99 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu, through nine separate operations.
The largest haul came from a buy-bust operation carried out by the PRO-6’s Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 around 6 p.m. on Nov. 6 in Savannah Subdivision, Barangay Polo Maestra Vita, Oton, Iloilo.
Authorities seized around 280 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.9 million from two suspects identified as aliases “Mel,” 54, a resident of Oton, and “Ken,” 45, of Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
PRO-6 data further showed that of those arrested, three were classified as high-value individuals and seven were tagged as street-level suspects.
PRO-6 director Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño commended his men for their continuous anti-drug operations alongside intensified dampaign against loose firearms.
“Sa bawat gramo ng ilegal na drogang napipigilang makarating sa ating mga komunidad, may mga pamilyang napoprotektahan at mga kabataang nailalayo sa panganib,” stated Tuaño. “Kaya hindi tayo maaaring maging kampante. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating intelligence-driven operations, palalakasin ang koordinasyon ng ating mga yunit, at tutugisin ang mga nasa likod ng ilegal na kalakalan ng droga.”/PN
